In about two months’ time, the reality of increased employment taxes and minimum wage rates will be upon us. Operators across the board, even those that historically champion low prices, will have no choice but to pass costs on to consumers. But, we’re also likely to see heavy discounting during quieter periods and the growing disparity between peak and off-peak will become more pronounced, as will regional variations.
In the numbers, I look at ONS data which shows that the accommodation and food service sectors, which I call hospitality, has demonstrated encouraging momentum in terms of adopting climate strategies.
